Born in Istanbul on 31 July 1952, Tahsin ÇOĞALAN graduated from Istanbul University Faculty of Law in October 1973. He was admitted to the Istanbul Bar in February 1975 under registration number 9623.

He began his career at Koçtaş A.Ş. and later served as Board Member and Legal Counsel to the group of companies of senior engineer and contractor Bahattin GÖREN, active in motorway, dam and irrigation projects in Türkiye and abroad.

From January 1989 he worked at Mapfre Genel Sigorta A.Ş. (formerly Türkiye Genel Sigorta A.Ş.). Between 1993 and 2000 he served as Board Member, Legal Counsel and Attorney at Çukurova Çelik Endüstrisi A.Ş., a Çukurova Holding affiliate (Istanbul head office and Aliağa plant), and at Liman İşletmeleri ve Nakliyecilik San. ve Tic. A.Ş. (Nemrut Bay, İzmir), where he led the legal department.

Having spent much of a career of more than forty years in the insurance sector, he has extensive experience in insurance law and corporate legal management, including the management of companies’ legal processes, commercial relationships and corporate structuring.

His practice focuses on Corporate Law, Contract Law, Real Estate and Lease Law, and Commercial Law.

Born in 1969, Alp ÇAKMUT completed high school in Istanbul, began his legal studies at Istanbul University Faculty of Law in 1988 and graduated in June 1992.

After his traineeship he was admitted to the Istanbul Bar in 1993 under registration number 18727 and has practised independently at his own law office ever since, gaining broad experience across many fields of law.

In 2000 he completed his master’s degree at Istanbul University Institute of Forensic Medicine with a thesis on “Criminal Liability in Traffic Accidents”.

His practice focuses on Criminal Law, together with Civil Procedure, Inheritance Law, Condominium Law, Lease Disputes and Commercial Law. He is particularly known for his academic and professional expertise in civil and criminal liability arising from traffic accidents.

Alongside his practice he is active in charitable associations and currently chairs the board of an association that provides free scholarships to university students.

He is married with one child and continues to practise as an independent attorney.

Born in Istanbul on 17 October 1985, Can Osman ÇELİKEL completed high school at Terakki Vakfı Özel Şişli Terakki Lisesi. He graduated from Kadir Has University Faculty of Law in 2009 and was admitted to the Istanbul Bar under registration number 39286.

He then completed the one-year International Legal English Certificate (ILEC) programme of the University of Cambridge held in Türkiye.

He completed his traineeship at Aktif Law Office and, in his early years of practice, worked at Aksen Law Office in the enforcement departments of banks, gaining experience in the collection of banking receivables.

From November 2011 he worked at Y&D Law Office, advising leading Turkish insurance companies, banks and commercial enterprises and taking an active role in managing their enforcement proceedings, litigation and legal disputes.

On 18 July 2014 he completed the Istanbul Bar CMK Centre’s in-service training on “Defence Counsel and Representation of Victims, Complainants and Intervening Parties”.

On 21 July 2016 he was registered as a mediator with the Mediation Department of the Ministry of Justice under number 3222, and he actively practises as a mediator alongside his advisory and litigation work.

His practice focuses on private law, in particular commercial and corporate law, law of obligations, insurance law, banking and finance law, enforcement and bankruptcy law, and contract law.

Valuing alternative dispute resolution alongside litigation, he works towards effective and sustainable solutions that take the interests of all parties into account.
